Burning Man is a festival in the Black Rock Desert in Nevada, USA.
It is based on 10 principals:
  • Radical Inclusion
  • Gifting
  • Decommodification
  • Radical Self-reliance
  • Radical Self-expression
  • Communal Effort
  • Civic Responsibility
  • Leaving No Trace
  • Participation
  • Immediacy

My contribution to Burning Man has been the Artistic Happening called "Ashes to Ashes; Dust to Dust". During this event I invite participants to free themselves from all clothing to cover the entire body with desert 'Playa' dust to become One with eachother, ourselves and the environment we travel miles to get to. Since water is limited in the desert I ask participants to use the natural element of dust instead of paint, with minimal use of black paint for cracks along with red paint for the hands. Below are images that I have captured from this expressive event.
Selected images for sale are in the "collaborations" section under Bodypaintography.

A special THANK YOU to all of the burners who participated and contributed to this project!
I will be organizing another "Ashes to Ashes; Dust to Dust" project in 2016, so please, if you are at Burning Man that year, come participate!
